Certified Nerds

My parents just became bigger nerds than they already are. Now they are certified. Here they are with their NERT certificates. Now they can do light search and rescue, triage emergency victims, and know what to do in all kinds of crazy situations. Did you know every city has this free training program? They are usually called CERTs in other areas. Check it out-it's fun and good information.

All kinds of crazy things happen in this city. It's good be as prepared as possible. Just yesterday, I was napping with Mommy when we heard a loud boom. I figured it was a car back firing or something. Learned today it was a grenade! A man was using a metal detecter 2 blocks from us in GG Park and found it. Good thing he new to call the police. A bomb squad defused it. Crazy! Apparently where we live (Sunset) was a common place for people to bury them after WWII when they didn't know what else to do with them. There's supposed to be quite a few. No metal detector hunting for me!
